Hearing Accessories

Posted: 24/09/2024

In our earlier blog, we talked about different types of hearing devices. Today we will look at accessories and some different situations where hearing accessories may be a useful addition to your everyday hearing solution.

Hearing in group settings

Family lunches and round table meetings are a similar environment from a hearing perspective– both can be challenging for anyone with hearing loss. State-of-the-art hearing accessories like tabletop microphones can make group discussion round a table more engaging and productive – also ideal for dinner parties when a group of people all want to talk to you at once! These handy hearing helpers are sometimes called “far-field” technologies. Although across a table is not very far, they can be used at longer distances too.

Hearing devices for TV

We all want to be able to hear our favourite TV programmes properly. To keep your neighbours happy, our hearing devices for TV can be wirelessly connected to the TV via an accessory called TV streamer so no need to turn the volume up – this will also please family members who do not have hearing loss!

Hearing people close to you

For one-to-one discussions (romantic or otherwise!) partner microphone technology can be wirelessly connected to a hearing aid. This can help in situations where you want to be able to hear softly spoken conversation, or when hearing loss is more severe.

If you feel that any of these accessories might be helpful to you, you can book an appointment to talk to one of our hearing aid audiologists
