With both his mother and grandmother working in the profession, he began his own journey with a Saturday job in an opticians at just 15 years old. It was there that he discovered a passion for helping people, whether supporting long-standing glasses wearers or helping children choose their very first pair of spectacles.
After qualifying as a Dispensing Optician in 2017 and gaining management experience with a large national provider, Phil was keen to return to a more patient-focused environment. He joined Rawlings in 2021, attracted by the company’s reputation for clinical excellence and long-serving teams. Following time spent at the Winchester branch, Phil was delighted to take over the Alresford practice, where he continues to build strong relationships with local patients.
Phil particularly enjoys working with complex prescriptions and supporting children through myopia management. His approachable nature and commitment to personalised care help create the welcoming atmosphere that patients experience throughout the practice.
